Ilya Strebulaev is a recognized international expert in venture capital, private equity, corporate innovation, strategic, investment and financial decision making. Ilya is the David S. Lobel Distinguished Professor of Private Equity and Venture Capital and Professor of Finance at the Stanford University Graduate School of Business, where he has been researching and teaching since 2004. He is also a Research Fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research. Ilya is the founder and director of the Stanford Graduate School of Business Venture Initiative.

Professor Strebulaev's research is widely known and published in leading

scientific journals. Ilya has received a number of prestigious academic awards, including the First Paper Prize (the Journal of Finance), the Fama-DFA Prize (the Journal of Financial Economics) and the Kenneth Trefftzs Prize (Western Finance Association). His research has been featured in various media outlets, including the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal.

Professor Strebulaev developed a venture capital course at Stanford, the heart of Silicon Valley. In recent years, more than 2,000 students have attended his course. At Stanford, Ilya teaches students in the MBA, MSx, Ph.D. and Executive Education (an executive education program) and was awarded the Stanford MBA Distinguished Teaching Award by MBA students as the best professor of the year and the same award from Sloan students - Sloan Teaching Excellence Award, as well as the first Masters in Management Best Teacher award Award at the London Business School.

Professor Strebulaev has led numerous seminars and sessions for corporate and senior executives and governments around the world on emerging trends in innovation, venture capital, the Silicon Valley ecosystem, corporate innovation and strategic decision making. He also advises companies and investors around the world on the valuation of venture capital companies, the selection of venture capital investments and managers, and portfolio allocation. Ilya is a non-executive director of Yandex Corporation. He also acts as an expert in corporate and investor litigation.

Ilya received his PhD in Finance from the London Business School. He is a graduate of the Moscow State University. M.V. Lomonosov (Bachelor of Economics) and the Russian School of Economics (Master of Economics).
